Testing Laboratory Technologist – Kentucky Blood Center

Mon-Thur 3rd shift, Full Time

Detail-oriented, self-motivated lab professional needed to perform required testing of products in accordance with guidelines. Other responsibilities include antigen typing, QC/calibration of reagents and equipment, quarantine and release of products, auditing of processes, general lab duties, and compliance with policies and procedures.

Strong written and oral communication skills, a do-what-it-takes work ethic, and a team-player attitude are required. Job-specific training provided.

Full-time position working Monday- Thursday 7:30 pm – 5:30 am. Training will be Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.

Must be 18 years old or older and MLT, CLT, MT, or CLS required. Proof of education/certifications required during

Medical Technologist II – American Red Cross IRL

3rd Shift, Full Time

Come bring your ASCP Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) license and passion for blood banking to support the life-saving mission of the American Red Cross Blood Services. We are looking for a full time Medical Technologist to work in our reference lab performing specialized testing to serve our local hospital clients.

As a Medical Technologist at the Red Cross you will perform basic and advanced donor and patient tests, and interpret results to determine donor-recipient compatibility. Primary job responsibilities may include:

• Resolving compatibility problems

• Providing complex reference and consultation services to hospitals and transfusion services

• Performing automated and manual test procedures on blood samples

Other Medical Technologist duties may include:

• Managing receipt, coordination, shipment and transport  of patient and donor blood samples and documenting supply and equipment problems

• Managing reagent inventory (ordering, receiving, inspection and preparation)

Recognizing/resolving testing irregularities and assisting other Medical Technologists in problem resolution.

• Consulting with staff at other medical facilities, to resolve complex serologic problems and providing special units to transfusion recipients

• Performing maintenance, repair and validation of laboratory equipment and software

• Maintaining accurate records

• Performing manufacturing duties associated with special blood products, if applicable

• Assuming lead responsibilities such as record review and training; assisting in concern management

Reference Laboratory Technologist – Kentucky Blood Center

Mon-Fri 3rd shift, Full Time

Seeking medical technologist to perform and interpret serological procedures on specimens submitted for compatibility testing or problem resolution. Will resolve typing problems, antibody problems, and crossmatch problems; and communicate with hospitals as needed.

MT, MLS, CLS (ASCP) with minimum two years recent blood bank experience, SBB preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills, a do-what-it-takes work ethic, and a team player attitude required. Proof of education/certifications required during the interview process.

Monday – Friday 10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. with on-call rotation.
